OMUSUBI Corporation will open ICCA, the OMAKASE Restaurant and Authentic Bar in Tribeca, Manhattan, which offers Edomae sushi and Japanese beef from Hokkaido grown exclusively for restaurants.

-About the Restaurant and the Bar-

“Counter,” a new style of OMAKASE course led by an immensely talented Michelin Starred Chef, will serve Edomae Style Sushi and Beef from Hokkaido, grown exclusively for restaurants.

The Bar focuses on rare Japanese whiskey, and original seasonal cocktails.

Through these two spaces, we aim to become an authentic source of imparting the beauty of Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients.

【Position】Kitchen Assistant / Sushi Counter assistant (opening staff), Full Time


【Job Details】

You will work directly under the executive Chef. You will have the opportunity to grow and learn authentic Sushi and Fine Japanese Cuisine Skills from a Michelin Star Japanese Sushi Chef with extensive knowledge and experience. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and to perfect the skills that you already have.
As a kitchen assistant you will learn how to fillet fish in Japanese style, the knife skills necessary for fine Japanese cuisine, frying techniques, and grilling techniques
You will learn how to prepare vegetables, fish and meat from Japan
If you are serious about your culinary career and you are looking for a position to learn authentic Japanese Cuisine techniques, this is a great opportunity.
Must be available to work on different shifts, weekends, and holidays.

【Experiences/License/Knowledge】

―Required ―

Some culinary experience is required
Japanese Cuisine Knowledge is a plus
Minimum education level: High school diploma or GED
―Preferredー

Fine Dining/ Michelin star restaurants/ NYT 4 star restaurants Experience
Japanese Restaurant Experience
NYC Food Protection Certificate Holder or willing to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment (We cover the Fee)
【Physical Requirements】

This Position will require the employee to carry items weighing 40lbs
This Position will require the employee to climb up and down stairs multiple times
【Others】

For all positions a flexible work schedule will be required. Must work on weekends and holidays.
