Photo Studio Internship
Description
Established and renowned photographer based in Brooklyn is seeking a photography and studio intern. The primary purpose of this role is to aid in studio operations, maintain and implement organizations, and aid in general studio assistance.
This is a semester-long (4 months) position. Interns will engage in 5 shooting sessions as initial training period to familiarize them with general shooting process. Interns must be available to work a minimum of 2-3 days per week, with a potential full-time option during the summers.
Qualifications
* The ideal candidate is eager to learn, pays attention to the details and is able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Passion for photography, beauty products, styling
* Creative problem solver and highly organized
* Regular, dependable attendance, and punctuality
* Some on-set production experience (any capacity) is a plus, but not required
* Knowledge of Capture One preferred, but not required
* You like being part of a team and are happy & willing to work in a collaborative environment
* Interest in learning about professional cameras and lighting equipment
* Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules
* Respectful and courteous when interacting with others, a calm and collaborative demeanor is expected when working through conflict
* Will work with college/university to provide credit to student; Recent college graduates are welcome to apply but not necessarily a requirement
Responsibilities
* Act as 3rd assistant/Production assistant - be present on set and take lead from photographer, 1st and 2nd assistant
* Maintain and organize photo equipments and prop storage at studio, as well as taking down photo&video sets
* Maintain neat studio premises, cleaning photo equipment, replenishing studio supplies, receive and relay to messengers for props, food orders, etc.
* Product Management - shipping/receiving incoming products and props and upload inventory photos to internal server
* Assist in backing up Session folders to internal Server as well as organizing and archiving all final files
* Run equipment related errands, such as dropping off/picking up equipment needing repair or purchasing equipment
* Assist in social media planning process such as copywriting and scheduling
* Support in establishing a strong brand presence on social media platforms by researching photography and social media trends as well as creatively brainstorm new strategies
Additional requirements
* Must be able to work 2-3 days/ week onsite
* Must be able to reliably commute to Brooklyn
Benefits
* After the 5th shooting session, the hourly rate is $10 an hour with 2 meals on shooting days and $20 transportation+lunch stipend/day on non-shooting day.
