About the Gallery & The Armory Show
A Lighthouse called Kanata is a Tokyo-based contemporary art gallery representing Japanese and international artists on a global stage. From organizing solo exhibitions to participating in major international art fairs, we work closely with artists to bring their concepts to life and present their works to important collectors and museums worldwide. We participate in approx. 10 international art fairs annually (e.g. TEFAF Maastricht, Frieze Seoul, Zona Maco) and work closely with our artists to shape their creative vision from concept to completion.
This year marks our third participation at The Armory Show, one of the leading art fairs in the United States. Held annually in New York City, The Armory Show brings together a curated selection of leading international galleries and draws an audience of museum directors, institutional curators, collectors, and press from across the world. The fair takes place at the Javits Center on the West Side, and has become an important event to kick off the Autumn art season.
We are seeking a temporary gallery assistant fluent in both English and preferably Japanese to assist our team at the fair. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the international art scene while working alongside a dynamic, professional team of gallerists.
