Sorate is a New York based company that specializes in Japanese matcha and Green Tea. Sorate is inspired and follow the Tea cerimony ritual and philosophy, Sorate aims at bringing a taste of authentic Japanese tea culture to New York City.
Inspired by the Teahouses of Kyoto, Sorate opened the doors to their own Teahouse in Soho over a year ago. Our tea is sourced from local farm in Uji, Kyoto, birthplace of Matcha, We currently specialize in serving 3 different types of Matcha grades (Hekisho 碧霄, Sōkū 蒼空, and Kūsui 空翠), each of which highlight the various harvesting seasons of the Tea Plant.
Through the use of the 釜 Kama, the art of traditional matcha preparation is at the heart of Sorate where each drink is crafted using traditional methods.
We are currently looking for new members to join our team. We are seeking people who are interested in learning the art, process, and philosophy of traditional matcha.
Only full-time positions are available.

Previous managerial experience in hospitality or food service is strongly preferred. Familiarity with matcha and tea culture is a plus.

ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

Overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth service flow

Leading and supporting the front-of-house team

Scheduling weekly shifts and coordinating with the team

Managing inventory and placing orders as needed

Guiding and educating guests through our curated tea menu

Providing a personalized and welcoming experience to each guest

Managing the “Square” POS system and handling transactions efficiently

Maintaining a calm and organized environment, especially during busy hours
