Sorate is a New York based company that specializes in Japanese matcha and Green Tea. Sorate is inspired and follow the Tea cerimony ritual and philosophy, Sorate aims at bringing a taste of authentic Japanese tea culture to New York City.
Inspired by the Teahouses of Kyoto, Sorate opened the doors to their own Teahouse in Soho over a year ago. Our tea is sourced from local farm in Uji, Kyoto, birthplace of Matcha, We currently specialize in serving 3 different types of Matcha grades (Hekisho 碧霄, Sōkū 蒼空, and Kūsui 空翠), each of which highlight the various harvesting seasons of the Tea Plant.

Through the use of the 釜 Kama, the art of traditional matcha preparation is at the heart of Sorate where each drink is crafted using traditional methods.

We are currently looking for new members to join our team. We are seeking people who are interested in learning the art, process, and philosophy of traditional matcha.

Roles and responsibilities include:
- Being knowledgeable about each of the various tea offerings
- Helping guide and educate guests through our curated menu.
- Provide a unique and personalized experience to the guests
- Being able to navigate through a “Square” POS system.
- Ability to manage a crowded line and cultivate a healthy breathable flow of people in house.
