Sorate is a New York based company that specializes in Japanese matcha and Green Tea. Sorate is inspired and follow the Tea cerimony ritual and philosophy, Sorate aims at bringing a taste of authentic Japanese tea culture to New York City.
Inspired by the Teahouses of Kyoto, Sorate opened the doors to their own Teahouse in Soho over 2 years ago. Our tea is sourced from local farm in Uji, Kyoto, birthplace of Matcha, We currently specialize in serving 3 different types of Matcha grades (Hekisho 碧霄, Sōkū 蒼空, and Kūsui 空翠), each of which highlight the various harvesting seasons of the Tea Plant.
Through the use of the 釜 Kama, the art of traditional matcha preparation is at the heart of Sorate where each drink is crafted using traditional methods.
