We want passionate, high energy kitchen staff to join our team. We need you to create authentic, Japanese dishes in a timely fashion at our new Industry City complex. At Japan Village we are introducing a Japanese “Eataly” featuring a Japanese supermarket, food hall, izakaya, and a sake store to the Sunset Park neighborhood. Our goal is to bring the entire Japanese cultural experience through food to Brooklyn, without making the trip to Japan.

Our kitchen staff must have a positive working relationship and contribute to a high- performing team to deliver a one-of-a-kind guest experience. As a team member, you must properly prepare and execute all menu items with proper cooking techniques and house recipes for a variety of food items including made-to-order onigiri rice balls, bento boxes, breads and pastries, ramen, sushi, noodles, and rice bowls.

Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of proper kitchen equipment use, knife skills
Willingness to learn and work hard
Ability to lift heavy items of up to 40 pounds
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of working experience
Flexibility in schedule including holidays
