Food and Beverage Supervisor Job Description

Overview:

The F&B Supervisor performs duties of all positions within the department including serving, bussing, hosting, expediting. The F&B supervisor resolves employee and guest-related problems. The F&B supervisor uses proper cash handling and accounting procedures. Experience in hosting, waiting, and cashiering is preferred. He/She must possess working knowledge of computer terminal and cash register operations.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift.
- Perform various financial activities such as cash handling, deposit preparation, and payroll.
- Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.
- Control inventories of equipment, small ware, and liquor, and report shortages to designated personnel.
- Purchase or requisition supplies and equipment needed to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
- Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
- Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems.
- Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety.
- Greet and seat guests, and present menus and wine lists.
- Schedule parties and take reservations.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding service. Develop equipment maintenance schedules and arrange for repairs

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2-3 years prior supervisory or management experience, prior hotel F&B experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other Team Members.
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Prior cash handling experience
- Experience with scheduling, payroll and labor management
- Experience with MICROS POS system
- Prior Serve Safe Certification preferred
- CPR Certification preferred
- Able to work PM and Night Shifts
